Kia ora, my name is Dr Rachael Sim, and I'm a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Blenheim.
Upon completing my doctorate at Massey University in Palmerston North, I moved to Western Australia where I worked in private practice for five years. In late 2021, I returned to my hometown of Blenheim and, with the help of my partner James, began work to open my own private practice.
I work across the lifespan, including with children, young people and families. I have experience working with mood and anxiety disorders, stress, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, interpersonal difficulties, borderline personality disorder, grief, tic disorders, and childhood emotional and behavioural difficulties.
I employ an individualised approach and I am passionate about working collaboratively with my clients so they can achieve their goals and thrive. I use a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Schema Therapy, and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) skills.
I offer face-to-face appointments at my office on Henry Street and can also provide telehealth.
